Where to get the best breakfasts, pick up a gift and have a deserved evening out

As the birthplace of the modern bicycle, Daimler cars and Triumph motorcycles, Coventry has long been a centre of innovation and commerce. And the modern city reflects its heritage. Whether you're in Coventry for a short break or a convention, our well-located Coventry hotels give you easy access to the city's unique attractions.

Start with breakfast
"Pop in to one of the city's quirky cafes to get a head start on your day. At Esquire's Coffee, inside the Transport Museum, you can learn about the city's automotive history while sipping an espresso. Sit down with the paper at comfortable Kawaha Cafe, where freshly roasted coffee accompanies tasty pastries. Rising Cafe, just outside of Coventry Cathedral, is the perfect place for a morning meeting over a hearty English breakfast. Stop in during the early afternoon for tea and an indulgent dessert."
Shopping in Coventry
"Broadgate has been at the heart of Coventry's town centre for more than a thousand years. The Cathedral Lanes Shopping Centre sits at the head of Broadgate, and you'll find many national chain stores along the street. Forgot something essential? The nearby West Orchards Shopping Centre, on the pedestrianised Smithford Way, is the place to pick up all the essentials for business travel. For a unique shopping experience, explore Coventry Retail Market, just off Market Way. It features almost 200 market stalls selling everything from clothing and accessories to books, magazines, gifts, and of course, a selection of fresh fruit and vegetables."
Going out in Coventry
"Medieval houses from all over Coventry have been relocated to historic Spon Street, making it the place for an atmospheric evening out. Some of the city's finest Indian restaurants are in the area, including the highly rated My Dhabba, Court 6, and Turmeric Gold. For upscale British fare, The Blue Bistro won't disappoint. A quick drink at The Old Windmill, a traditional pub serving a wide selection of real ales, will transport you back to the early days of the city."
Getting around
"Parking can be hard to find in the city centre and the ring road is tricky to navigate, so leave the car in the private parking at your Coventry Ibis and walk or take public transport if you can. You can get around the compact centre easily on foot, but if you need to venture further afield, use the Gett app to instantly book a black cab. The Coventry Rail Station is just a few minutes' walk from our Coventry Centre hotel, while the airport is just 4 km away. If you’re travelling on by rail, it's just a 20-minute hop to Birmingham or an hour to London by train."
