Algarve Beaches – Guide to the Algarve Coast
Explore Algarve coast, find the finest beaches and have a truly relaxing holiday experience.
Praia do Burgau, Vila do Bispo
Get started in Vila do Bispo where you’ll find this small and very beautiful beach. Although there is a little village very close-by, the beach is not accessible by car due to the cliffs surrounding the beach, which protect it from strong winds. In Praia do Burgau you’ll also find a small island, accessible by boat or canoe (available for renting on site).
Meia Praia, Lagos
One of the most popular beaches in Lagos, Meia Praia stretches along 4 km and welcomes both surfers, families, locals and tourists. The beach is well served with several restaurants and bars and a huge parking lot.
Praia da Marinha, Lagoa
Winner of several prizes that award the best European beaches, Praia da Marinha is an amazing backdrop for a relaxing day. Hidden bellow the cliff tops, this beach is only accessible by a flight of stone steps that lead to the white sand.
Praia de Albandeira, Lagoa
Also in Lagoa you’ll find a lesser-known but equally beautiful beach, the Praia de Albandeira. Although it isn’t featured in most tourist guides, this beach is another treasure concealed by huge cliffs, with clear waters and white sand. Due to its few visitors, it is perfect for a truly relaxing day.
Praia da Armona, Olhão
The Armona beach is located in one of the three islands off Olhão coast and is part of the Ria Formosa Natural Park. To visit this beach, hop on a ferry and then walk 15 minutes until you reach the stunning white sands that stretch as far as the eye can see.
