The news is in! After battling it out at our ibis Music gig series this summer, alongside 5 other emerging artists, Nxdia is crowned our winner! She’ll be joining us at Sziget Festival 2019, playing on our ibis Music stage on day one of the festival.
The winners from our other ibis Music regions, including Brazil, Germany & Amsterdam, will be gracing the stage too, so if you’re heading to Hungary for Sziget this year, be sure to plan a visit to the ibis area into your schedule. Trust us; you don’t want to miss our line-up! Our ibis Music festival space will be there from 7th August – 13th August, so pop down and say hi – we love meeting new fans. We have tons of exciting stuff planned throughout the festival period.
Following Sziget Festival 2019, we’ll leave it to you guys to decide who is the global champion of ibis Music. Keep your eyes peeled in August to find out how to vote…
A little bit more about our ibis Music winner, Nxdia…
A singer/songwriter born and raised in Cairo Egypt, Nxdia is now based in the suburbs of Manchester. Her music takes on Pop Music, blending feel-good, slick and modern production with personal and relatable lyrics about love, identity and growing up as a millennial. Throughout her writing, she reflects on her current social surroundings as a young adult in the UK as well as experimenting sonically with the sounds that she grew up with, creating a sound that’s both nostalgic yet refreshing.
Her infectious song-writing and bubbly personality got Nxdia a place on the Levi’s Music Project in Summer 2017, where she collaborated with other Manchester based artists and recorded her first ever material!
She released her debut single, Complex, in December last year. Complex’ is an LGBTQ+ pro song, about feeling pressured to stretch yourself in order to fit a marred projection of who you are, and instead, not wanting to fit inside the confines of a label. Read her full story here
Watch out for more of her music launching this year and be sure to follow her on Instagram and Spotify to stay updated.
