But if you want to discover the city like a local why not try something a little new? Dubai has plenty off-beat hidden secrets across the city, for when you are looking to escape the city lights. Here’s a pick of some our favourite unique things to do in Dubai:

Gold and Spice Souk
Located in the heart of Old Dubai, the gold and spice souk (market) is a definitely sight to see. Even if you are not interested in purchasing anything, just taking a stroll along the streets, chatting with shopkeepers and gazing at the jewellery in abundant display takes you into the local culture. At the market you can eat street food, shop for fabrics and simply immerse yourself in exotic aromas and flavours from all the different spices.
Camel Polo
Bring out the equestrian in you in the Arabian way by having a go at Camel Polo. Rules are similar to traditional horse polo, but skills and training is required. Groups of riders are encouraged, and no previous riding experience is needed.
Bunjee Jumping
Bring out your wild side by throwing yourself out of a crane at Gravity Zone. Go solo or tandem with a friend, get your adrenaline pumping as you jump off a 50 metre height. Make sure to bring along nerves of steel and just enjoy the jump!
Indoor Skiing
Many who come to Dubai for the first time are blown away by the heat, especially during summer months. A great way to cool off is to spend time indoors and the malls of Dubai offer the perfect escape. The Mall of the Emirates is one of the largest shopping malls in the world and home to Ski Dubai, an indoor ski resort. Not only can you take skiing lessons, but you can also encounter penguins, play in the snow and ride the Snow Bullet.
Ride an Abra
If extreme sports if not really thing, then a ride across the Deira creek on an abra is a relaxing way to enjoy the sights and sounds of Old Dubai. The abra is a small traditional boat and is the best way to explore the local architecture and busy port where Dubai started.
