Fun activities in Switzerland

Fun activities for everyone in Switzerland

Come sun or rain, you'll find something for everyone to enjoy in Switzerland's cities. Allow us to show you around...

Sport in the city
Switzerland is a sporty country that is well-equipped in sports facilities. Geneva is a paradise for the urban sport of skateboarding and is home to one of Europe's largest skate parks: the 3,000 m² Plainpalais park. Lausanne also has its own skating hotspot in the Bowl de Vidy, a vast open-air leisure centre. Zurich is all about BMXing at the Bike-Park Allmend. Budding and seasoned urban cyclists alike will be in two-wheel heaven as they explore the site's five trails and freestyle space. Swiss cities also make use of their rivers and lakes by offering up a range of water sports. Go boating on Lake Geneva or set off in a pedalo in Lausanne.
Playtime for kids
If you're looking for some children's parks during your holiday in Switzerland, look no further than Gurten hill in Bern, which is accessible by tram and hugely popular with families thanks to its massive playground, miniature train and winter sledding slope. In Geneva, the Jardin Botanique also has a great playground for little ones featuring the magical Carrousel des Fables merry-go-round. In Ouchy in Lausanne, the giant playground is a hit with kids thanks to its epic climbing frame, as is the one tucked away in the Parc de Mon-Repos.
Have fun while you learn
City breaks are synonymous with trips to museums. Some of them offer fun family tours, such as Zurich's Kindercity, where you can learn more about science while having fun. Another unmissable site is the Espace des Inventions (Invention Zone) in Lausanne's Vallée de la Jeunesse (Youth Valley), a family-friendly place dedicated to science and technology education. In Bern, the Creaviva Museum at the Paul Klee Centre is an excellent place to learn about art while having fun with the interactive exhibitions and workshops.
