Events at the World Trade Center

The Dubai World Trade Centre is an icon of the United Arab Emirates. Built in 1979, at the tip of Sheikh Zayed Road was a first of its kind for the city. The first skyscraper and tallest building in the Arab World for many years, DWTC was a start to many more to come. The original Sheikh Rashid Tower stands at 489 feet and was inaugurated by Queen Elizabeth. The building’s importance is reflected in its picture on the UAE’s 100 dirham note. The convention centre at DWTC is world-known to hold some of the most important events and exhibitions in the region and internationally. Some popular annual events at the World Trade Centre include:

Arab Health
Running for 40 years now, Arab Health is one of the world’s largest medical and healthcare conferences. The expo brings together healthcare professionals and medical experts from all over the world, to interact with dealers, suppliers, distributors and more. The network includes over 4000 companies from 163 countries. Arab Health usually takes place in January every year.
Gulfood
Established over 25 years, Gulfood is the world’s biggest annual food and hospitality show. The exhibition brings together traders and experts in the hospitality field, showcases their stalls and provides a platform for specialists to share knowledge. Gulfood takes place between February and March every year.
GITEX
One of the biggest information technology exhibitions in the world. GITEX and GITEX Shopper is a biannual event at DWTC, bringing together IT professionals, students and consumers to share knowledge about the industry and purchase gadgets.
Dubai Sports World
The region’s largest indoor sports arena is constructed every summer at DWTC, as a platform for sports and fitness enthusiasts to continue their activities amidst the summer heat. Visitors can choose from a variety of sports like basketball, football, rugby, tennis and much more.
