Winter merriment
The winter season in Belgium caters perfectly for winter sport activities like skiing. While the Ardennes is ideal for beginners, the challenging slopes of Mont des Brumes are better suited for those more experienced. Aim between December and February for the best chances of snow. 
Prefer a city trip instead? Cities like Ghent, Bruges and Antwerp brighten up during this time of year thanks to its winter markets and special activities. Visit the winter markets of the Ghent Winter Festival from December to January for a truly magical experience, or check out Antwerp’s enormous Christmas market on the famous Grote Markt. Feel the warmth during Belgium’s cosiest and most fun-filled season!
A stroll in spring
Spring starts to blossom in March when the sun finally shares its warmth. Ghent, Antwerp and Liège are great cities for a stroll in spring thanks to their compact size. Liège boasts a five-kilometre long market named ‘La Batte’ on the banks of the Meuse. A great chance to soak up some locality on a Sunday morning! Heading to Antwerp? Don’t miss out on a Belgian specialty beer in one of the many terraces on the historical Grote Markt to finish off a stroll through the city. 
Summer festivals and boat tours
The Belgian summer is host to numerous festivals for all ages. Options include the Ghent Jazz Festival in July and the Festival of Lights in August in Lissewege.
