Celebrity Band Hangouts

When you’re staying in one of the UK’s big cities there’s always the opportunity to try and spot celebrities, and visiting some of their favourite clubs and restaurants is the best place to start. In this post we’ll reveal where the biggest bands, singers and TV personalities in the UK hangout when they’re not doing their thing on stage or screen. Prepared to be wowed.

Mahiki
1 Dover Street, London W1S 4LD
This Polynesian-themed nightclub has an open-door policy and is in the Piccadilly/Mayfair area. It’s popular with Little Mix, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Harry Styles, Beyoncé and Jay-Z. In the past, it was a regular haunt of Prince William and Prince Harry. It’s giant treasure chests filled with cocktails are legendary.

Scott's
20 Mount Street, London, W1K 2HE
If you love seafood and Hollywood stars, perhaps visit Scott’s for lunch? It’s known as ‘Britain’s grandest restaurant.’ There is a wonderful oyster and champagne bar you can see from your table and you might bump into the likes of Simon Cowell, Take That, Nigella Lawson or even a former U.S President.
The Ivy
1 West Street, London, WC2H 9NQ
There aren’t many celebrities who haven’t dined at The Ivy, which was London’s most famous restaurant in the eighties and nineties. It’s a great place to go for a meal before seeing a show, just make sure you book well in advance. Their most famous dish is their shepherd’s pie. If you’re lucky you might spot the likes of Victoria and David Beckham, David Walliams, Angelina Jolie or Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

If you’re looking for a London hotel that’s a stone’s throw from The Ivy, book your stay at ibis London Blackfriars, just a stroll over Waterloo Bridge away from this local institution.
San Carlo
40-42 King Street West, Manchester, M3 2WY
For authentic Italian cuisine there’s nowhere better than San Carlo. It was recently named Britain’s coolest restaurant and you’ll understand why when you visit. It’s popular with celebrities and footballers in particular - both the Manchester City and Manchester United squads frequently dine here.

Hardly a week goes by without a celebrity being photographed coming out of San Carlo, so why not reserve a table? The Gallagher brothers, Rihanna, Russell Crowe, Hulk Hogan, Michael Bublé and Lionel Richie are all fans. If your favourite band or singer are performing a concert in Manchester during your stay in the city, there’s a good chance they could be heading to San Carlo afterwards.

If you are catching a gig in the north’s capital, book your stay at ibis Manchester Centre 96 Portland Street. Centrally located, it’s within walking distance of the city’s major music venues.

Rosso
43 Spring Gardens, Manchester, M2 2BG
Co-owned by former Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand, Rosso restaurant and bar is in a beautiful Grade II listed building. It’s popular with footballers, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, James Corden, Lennox Lewis, the Stereophonics and even had the whole USA basketball team visit one night.

Officially it’s an Italian restaurant, but steak and chips is the most popular dish on the menu. The bar is great too, if you just want to have some drinks.
Gusto
Edward Pavillion, Albert Dock, Liverpool, L3 4AF
This restaurant in the iconic Albert Dock in Liverpool offers a wide range of Italian dishes and delicious pizza. It’s popular with Liverpool and Everton players as well as actors and actresses from Hollyoaks which is filmed in the city. Pixie Lott, Ray Quinn, Tess Daly and Anton Du Beke all rate Gusto’s food and atmosphere. It’s a great place to come with friends but if you need a large table, you’ll need to book sooner rather than later.

If you need somewhere to rest your head after dinner and drinks, ibis Liverpool  Centre Albert Dock is perfectly situated, just a couple of minutes’ walk around the waterfront.
